Osmium (VIII) Oxide, Microencapsulated

Osmium (VIII) Oxide has been widely used for asymetric oxidation of diols.
Details

Osmium (VIII) Oxide has been widely used for asymetric oxidation of diols. However, it is extremely hazardous and requires special handling. Wako is pleased to introduce an Osmium (VIII) Oxide microencapsulated in polystyrene, which reduces volatization of the oxide. This microencapsulation technology also allows for the Osmium (VIII) Oxide, when used as a catalyst, to be recovered and reused.
