FLUOstar Omega - Multidetection Microplate Reading Including Full UV/Vis Absorbance Spectrum
The FLUOstar Omega is an innovative multidetection microplate reader with a UV/Vis absorbance spectrometer capable of capturing a full absorbance spectrum (220 to 1000 nm) at a resolution of 1 nm. Read times faster than 1 second per well are possible.
FLUOstar Omega microplate reader offers the following detection modes:
- Fluorescence Intensity - including FRET
- Time-Resolved Fluorescence - including DELFIA®
- TR-FRET - including HTRF® and LanthaScreen®
- AlphaScreen®/AlphaLISA®
- High-Performance Luminescence (flash and glow) - including BRET
- UV/Vis Absorbance - measurement of complete spectra or individual wavelengths
With full UV/Vis spectrum absorbance and ultra-sensitive filter based detection in all measurement modes, the FLUOstar Omega multidetection microplate reader provides users with unmatched flexibility and sensitivity to perform any assay needed.

Additional features
In addition, FLUOstar Omega offers a number of outstanding features such as a dedicated luminescence detection system, top and bottom microplate reading, multi-color detection, well scanning, sixteen filter positions, expanded temperature control up to 65°C, plate shaking, gas vent connection, onboard injectors and much more.
Unique gas control capabilities
Using the Atmsopheric Control Unit (ACU), the FLUOstar Omega can independently control O2 and CO2 concentrations within the microplate reader. The ACU is a unique gas control module available as an option for the FLUOstar Omega that provides independent control and regulation of CO2 (0-20%) and O2 (1-19%). This independent control allows different environmental conditions to be maintained without the need to connect pre-mixed gases. The ACU simply regulates the CO2 and N2 supplies to achieve the target conditions.
Upgradeable
The Omega series of microplate readers has a modular design concept. This enables the FLUOstar Omega to be fully upgraded to the powerful POLARstar Omega, which can also perform Simultaneous Dual Emission detection and fluorescence polarization/anisotropy.
Stacker and Robot compatibility
BMG LABTECH´s standardized microplate reader footprint and robotic software interface make it easy to integrate the FLUOstar Omega into all existing robotic systems. The Stacker, with a 50 plate capacity and optional barcode reader, is the modular attachment that can be integrated with the FLUOstar Omega for medium throughput plate handling.
Software package
The FLUOstar Omega software package comes with BMG LABTECH's established Omega Reader Control software and comprehensive Data Analysis Software, MARS. The highly intuitive software provides limitless possibilities for test set up where it is needed, but also offers a "Quick-Start" mode for running routine analysis with just 3 mouse clicks. Improved robotic integration capabilities with ActiveX and DDE interfaces, digital signature and FDA 21 CFR part 11 compliance complete BMG LABTECH's software package.
