The FLUOstar OPTIMA ABS performs UV/Vis absorbance in any plate format from 6- to 96- or 384-wells.
The FLUOstar OPTIMA ABS can not only measure Bradford, MTT and ELISA assays but is also able to detect wavelengths as low as 240 nm, low enough for NADH detection or DNA and protein 260/280 measurements. This low UV capability makes the FLUOstar OPTIMA ABS capable of reading nearly all microplate based spectroscopy assays.
Additional features
The FLUOstar OPTIMA ABS has other features most basic ELISA readers don't. It can be equipped with up to two reagent injectors to initiate fast kinetic reactions, like enzyme assays. The FLUOstar OPTIMA ABS can also be equipped with a gas-vent connection, precise temperature control up to 45°C or even 60°C and shaking in various modes. These features are useful for cell proliferation and cytotoxicity assays, the MTT assay, apoptosis and cell migration as well as bacterial growth kinetics and much more.
Upgradeable
The FLUOstar OPTIMA ABS allows users the flexibility to upgrade in order to detect fluorescence intensity, time-resolved fluorescence, fluorescence polarization and even luminescence at any time.
Robot Compatibility
The FLUOstar OPTIMA ABS, as well as all BMG LABTECH microplate readers, have a small standardized reader footprint and robotic software interface via DDE or ActiveX making integration in all leading robotic systems easy. For medium level throughput, BMG LABTECH offers a 50 plate Stacker for use with the FLUOstar OPTIMA ABS and other BMG LABTECH microplate readers.
Software package
The FLUOstar OPTIMA ABS comes with user-friendly and intuitive Reader Control software as well as powerful Data Analysis Software, MARS. It allows one-click calculation of DNA sample concentration, standard curve plots, error bars, standard deviations, IC50 / EC50s, live-dead ratios, Vmax and Km for enzyme kinetic calculations, FDA 21 CFR part 11 compliance and much more.
