For the human health industry, sterile conditions are particularly important, as are product purity and conformity. Applications for the separation of micro-organisms, and the processing of cell cultures and fermentation broths, include the production of: vaccines, antibiotics, amino acids, enzymes, starter cultures, hormones, insulin and blood components to name a few. Mechanical separation processes play a key role in these critical pursuits and have special requirements, like sterilizable surfaces, C-I-P and S-I-P capabilities, and totally closed machinery and systems for bio-containment. Our patented, gentle Hydrohermetic feed system allows for lysis free recovery of genetically engineered mammalian cells.
