Bio-Rad® Media Transfer Device
The media transfer device is a self-contained unit designed to transfer chromatography media from a tank to a column, to unload a column into a tank, or to deliver cleaning solutions to columns. It is specifically designed for CIP operations with Bio-Rad InPlace columns.
Processing piping is made from 316L stainless steel, Ra <0.8mm, with tri-clamp sanitary fittings. Separate pumps are used fro the media and the cleaning solutions, to ensure that no media will be injected in the CIP spraying system and that CIP solutions will not contaminate the process. The Bio-Rad media transfer device is pneumatically controlled for safe, easy, and effective operations and has a compact design to minimize space requirements and the internal volume of the piping.
Full documentation is supplied with the device, including a service manual, information on integrated components (such as valves and pumps), and quality documents (such as material traceability and welding certification). Features include:
- Industrial-grade casters and quick-connect electrical plugs to allow the system to be positioned easily
- Closed design to prevent entrapment of fluid
