Cytotoxicity Assay
A novel approach to assessing cytotoxicity has been achieved by combining two DNA-binding dyes. A DAPI-detectable dye labels the nucleus of all cells and a TxRED/Cy3-detectable dye labels the nucleus of dead cells only. These two dyes are used concomitantly. This approach determines the percentage of live:dead cells.
Cytotoxicity-Mono
The Cytotoxicity-Mono kit comprises a dead-cell dye only. This kit is useful if only the number of dead cells is required. Moreover, because the dead cell dye does not enter viable cells, those cells can be cultured for further studies. The use of only one fluorescent channel facilitates multiplexing with additional cellular readouts.
