The VirTis 96 well Freeze Drying System consists of glass or plastic vials in an aluminum block specifically designed for freeze drying samples. This unique combination eliminates problems such as edge effect typically seen in standard 96 well plastic plates.
The VirTis 96 well Freeze Drying System consists of glass or plastic vials in an aluminum block specifically designed for freeze drying samples. This unique combination eliminates problems such as edge effect typically seen in standard 96 well plastic plates.
Samples in the middle wells retain more moisture to the point that they can collapse while freeze drying. The design of the holders speeds the freeze drying process by effectively transferring heat to the wells. This is particularly important for both initial freezing and subsequent primary and secondary drying.
Once samples are lyophilized, the LyoCap stoppers can be pressed into the vials and handled as a full plate or on an individual basis.
