NBS is also a leading manufacturer of fermentation equipment and bioreactors, with a broad product range designed for research through production-scale applications. Like our shakers, many of these systems are still in operation after 20, 30 or more years. A complete range of CO2 incubators, as well as ultra-low temperature freezers and ancillary products are also offered, backed by a variety of customer support, training and contract lab services.
U. S. Operations:
NBS’ world headquarters is located in Edison, NJ, in a 243,000 square-foot facility that houses the manufacturing plant, offices, and R&D labs for fermentation and cell culture testing and development. The facility is currently undergoing a continuous stream of improvements, including recent acquisition of a million-dollar, automated laser punch machine that streamlines our sheet-metal processing operations. The system, one of the first to be installed on the East Coast, lets us quickly respond to changes in customer demand, and gives us rapid prototyping capability. The plant also houses a clean-room facility for producing FibraCel® disks and operates an ASME-certified pressure-vessel machining center that enables us to expedite delivery as well as better control quality standards. In the US, NBS maintains a direct field sales and service organization, and is allied with Fisher Scientific for exclusive distribution of our Excella shaker line.
Multi-National Operations:
NBS maintains sales and service operations strategically located throughout Europe and Asia, with facilities in the Netherlands, UK, France, Germany, Belgium, China, Taiwan and India. Elsewhere, NBS supports a worldwide distributor network of factory-trained sales and service representatives. European operations are headquartered in our Netherlands warehouse and distribution center, where inventories of shakers, fermentors and cell culture equipment are kept on hand, speeding delivery to our European customers. UK sales and service operations are located in St. Albans, Hertfordshire, and we also operate a nearby freezer manufacturing facility in Tollesbury, England, and a CO2 incubator manufacturing facility in Scotland.
