About Us
The Microplate Reader Specialists
BMG LABTECH offers the most complete line of microplate readers available. These innovative plate readers have been designed to provide you with comprehensive solutions for life science, drug discovery, assay development and academic research. Many of BMG LABTECH's innovative microplate readers are also have DLReady certification from Promega, are LanthaScreen™ certified plus from Invitrogen and carry the HTRF® compatible logo from Cisbio International.
Multidetection Microplate Readers
BMG LABTECH's broad line of multidetection microplate readers offers an immense range of measurement possibilities. The Omega series of microplate readers represent the world's first multimode plate readers capable of capturing a full UV/Vis absorbance spectrum (220 – 850 nm) at a fantastic resolution of 1 nm.
The FLUOstar OPTIMA, one of the most popular multidetection plate readers in the world, can be used for fluorescence, time-resolved fluorescence, luminescence and absorbance measurements and for fluorescence polarization when upgraded to a POLARstar OPTIMA.
The NOVOstar is the only multimode reader with an integrated pipetting system – the perfect instrument for monitoring fast kinetic reactions such as intracellular calcium flux or enzymatic turnover.
The PHERAstar Plus HTS microplate is able to perform all leading non-isotopic detection modes including fluorescence intensity, time-resolved fluorescence, fluorescence polarization, TR-FRET, luminescence, UV/Vis absorbance and laser-based AlphaScreen®. The PHERAstar FS incorporates all of the features of the PHERAstar Plus and more including Tandem Technology with ultra-fast UV/Vis absorbance spectrometer as well as on-board reagent injectors and dedicated lasers for AlphaScreen® and TR-FRET.
Dedicated Microplate Readers
For very special applications, BMG LABTECH offers dedicated plate readers, such as the NEPHELOstar, RUBYstar, SPECTROstar Omega and LUMIstar OPTIMA. The NEPHELOstar, the only laser-based microplate nephelometer, is used for solubility testing of compounds as well as for detection of bacterial growth. The RUBYstar is a dedicated plate reader for HTRF®, one of the most powerful high-throughput screening methods, and the LUMIstar Omega and LUMIstar OPTIMA is a high-performance plate reader for luminescence based assays. The FLUOstar OPTIMA F, microplate fluorimeter, and the FLUOstar OPTIMA ABS, absorbance microplate reader for ELISA and much more, are both fully upgradeable to multidetection microplate readers at any time.
BMG LABTECH was a proud sponsor of the LabAutomation 2010 and presented the following workshops:
Minimize Common Errors Associated with High-Throughput Screening Detection – The New PHERAstar FS is the Next Generation Multidetection HTS Instrument
Each component in a high-throughput screening pipeline contributes error to the final outputted data. Recently more sensitive and precise techniques have arisen that greatly limit error in liquid handling and HTS assays. Now with BMG LABTECH's PHERAstar FS multidetection microplate reader, error due to HTS detection has been dramatically reduced or eliminated. Most multidetection instruments have to compromise in sensitivity, speed and/or features to work in all modes, causing data error. Learn how the PHERAstar FS uses the newest of technologies to meet ALL HTS needs with no compromises. The benefits to assay platforms such as HTRF®, HTPlex™, AlphaScreen®, LanthaScreen®, GeneBLAzer®, Transcreener®, Fluo-4 Direct™ calcium, and many others were discussed in detail.
Faster, Simpler, More Precise High-Throughput Screening with BMG LABTECH and HighRes Biosolutions
High-throughput screening is a timely and costly endeavor that requires the precise coordination of many timely events to work flawlessly. HTS researchers need to balance three variables – time, sensitivity and precision. A compromise on any can lead to false positive ‘hits' that are inherent artifacts or errors due to a limiting component in the HTS system. Learn about new HTS tools from BMG LABTECH and HighRes Biosolutions that have made high-throughput screening faster, easier, and more precise at places such as the Burnham Institute in San Diego, CA.
The Microplate Reader Company
Since the introduction of the first microplate fluorometer in 1993, BMG LABTECH has continued to develop and improve the sensitivity of plate readers to handle the increasingly challenging requirements of popular microplate based assays. All of our plate readers are produced in Germany and are of the highest quality. BMG LABTECH's worldwide sales, service, and support network is staffed by fully trained personnel who can supply exceptional technical support where and when you need it.
BMG LABTECH's Applications Center
