Gel Permeation Chromatography (GPC), also known as Size Exclusion Chromatography (SEC)
This is a chromatographic technique that employs specialized columns to separate natural and synthetic polymers, biopolymers, proteins on the basis of size.
As the sample is separated and elutes from the column, it can be characterized by a single concentration detector, using ‘Conventional calibration’, to give a relative molecular weight. The RImax includes an integrated autosampler and pump, a Refractive Index detector and column oven.
A Viscometer, Light scattering and single or multiple wavelength UV detector can be added to provide absolute molecular weight, compositional analysis for copolymer analysis and peak identification.
Features:
- Relative molecular weight measurement and molecular weight distribution of polymers and proteins
- Autosampler incorporated to increase throughput and improve repeatability
- In line degasser and automatic eluent sensor for out of solvent warning
- Column oven to give repeatable elution profiles
- Comprehensive functionality software featuring ‘two clicks from data to results’
- Upgradable to add light scattering (RALS and LALS) intrinsic viscosity and UV detectors, to provide absolute molecular weight, molecular size, structure and composition of proteins and polymers
- 21 CFR part 11 compliant
