Shoreview MN - TSI Incorporated filed a patent infringement lawsuit in federal district court for the District of Arizona against Azbil BioVigilant Incorporated seeking injunctive relief and damages for infringement. The suit alleges that BioVigilant’s sale of IMD viable detection products constitute infringement of TSI’s patent rights.

TSI has been the leading provider of fluorescence based viable particle detectors for the homeland defense and military markets for over 12 years and recently introduced the BioTrak™ Real-Time Viable Particle Detector for monitoring of total and viable particulates in clean room manufacturing environments.

TSI CEO Dr. Thomas Kennedy states, “TSI has invested significant resources in developing fluorescence based particle detection technology and will vigorously defend its Intellectual Property portfolio. We are excited about extending this technology into the pharmaceutical clean room environmental monitoring space”. TSI has exclusively licensed and collaboratively developed fluorescence based particle detection technology with Canada Defense Research Establishment since the late 1990’s and recently acquired the patent portfolio outright.

TSI is represented by Faegre Baker Daniels LLP.
