Scientific Presentations At The 2013 Society Of Toxicology Annual Meeting
Source: MPI ResearchJoin Adam Aulbach, DVM, DACVP, as he provides an overview of the current principles involved in the evaluation of the hematologic system focusing on techniques critical to accurate data interpretation. In addition, integration of hematology data with other study endpoints (e.g., microscopic pathology, in-life data, etc.) will be discussed.
The increase in biopharmaceuticals in development has been impressive over the past 10 years. Scott E. Boley, PhD, DABT, will cover the differences in the nonclinical approach used for biopharmaceuticals compared to the traditional small molecule approach, evaluate study design aspects, and include lessons learned through the evaluation of completed biopharmaceutical nonclinical studies.
Brian Knapp, BS, will present on quantitative whole-body autoradiography (QWBA), a high-resolution tissue distribution assessment commonly used in preclinical drug development. QWBA is typically performed with long-lived isotopes. However, short-lived isotopes provide a solution to contemporize QWBA, combining it with multiple imaging platforms, such as PET and SPECT, within a single-study design.
