PuraBead® Product Brochure

PuraBead® is a 6% agarose bead developed and manufactured exclusively by ProMetic BioSciences Ltd (PBL) in a controlled environment according to an ISO 9001 accredited quality management system.

PuraBead® is manufactured using a novel method which does not require the use of organic solvents in the beading process and which provides uniform near mono-disperse beads with excellent flow properties.

After beading, the matrix is cross-linked to provide material for derivatization with synthetic ligands. Two different types of cross-linking chemistry are used; a standard process to produce PuraBead® 6XL, and an advanced cross-linking process which produces a harder bead (PuraBead® 6HF) capable of supporting very high process flow rates.

PBL adsorbents based on PuraBead® supports offer high dynamic binding capacities, excellent flow properties, cleaning and sanitization using NaOH (allowing prolonged column lifetimes) and easy column packing and use.
