NanoQuant Plate™ For Use On Infinite® M1000 And Infinite F500 Multimode Microplate Readers
Source: TecanMany current genetic and forensic investigations, for example microarray-based hybridization experiments, require the detection and quantification of very small amounts of nucleic acids. Microarray-based hybridization experiments use dye-labeled DNA or RNA probes, requiring concentration and labeling efficiency measurements to determine the degree of dye incorporation. The most popular method for determining nucleic acid concentrations is based on absorbance measurements, checking the purity of the DNA or RNA by comparison of absorbance at 260 nm to absorbance at 280 nm (A260/A280 ratio).
Tecan’s patent pending NanoQuant Plate has already been successfully implemented on the Infinite 200 PRO multimode microplate reader, providing a very effective, easy-to-use measurement tool for low volume nucleic acid probes. The NanoQuant Plate’s multifunctional capabilities offer straightforward quantification of DNA and RNA in absorbance and fluorescence measurement modes, allowing nucleic acid purity checks, protein quantification and dye labeling efficiency measurements. Accurate quantification of nucleic acid samples for data normalization and further analysis using quantitative PCR (qPCR)-based gene expression analysis and microarray technologies has also be achieved.
