An in vitro Microplate Assay That Monitors IL-6 Secretion And Cell Viability Using An Epithelial Ovarian Cancer Cell Line

Here we demonstrate the ability to monitor potential target-based and phenotypic effects of lead compounds in one combined assay procedure. IL-6 expression was used to track EGF receptor pathway inhibition via an HTRF microplate assay, while cytotoxicity was detected using fluorescence imaging of a live/dead dual probe cell viability reagent. All measurements were performed on the Cytation 3.
