Hamilton - BioProcess International 2010

LSC: We're here at Hamilton Company at BioProcess International. And I'm here with John Round who's going to tell us a little bit about Hamilton's new ARC product.

Hamilton: The ARC product line was just introduced by Hamilton in the last year. It is a result of several years of work on finding a bridge between sensor measurement in the process and the control and data acquisition systems that you find in any process plant.

In past years, customers have found that the interface between the sensor itself and the process control system could be compromised easily because of the communications systems that were in place. Transmitter, cable, and then the sensor. We've combined the transmitter into the sensor, the measurement device, so that now we eliminate one of the major problematic components in the system.

We built that starting with the VISIFERM oxygen sensor, a new optical based oxygen measurement system, added pH and conductivity measurements. So now we have the full gamut of common measurements found in the biotechnology and bioresearch area. That would be: dissolved oxygen, pH, and conductivity. Our customers have found them to provide them with advantages in a higher quality of measurement of system process variable, along with a considerable reduction of costs of implementation of the measurement.

LSC: Thank you for sharing your knowledge with us John.

Hamilton: Thank you very much.
