Eureka Genomics Awarded Multi Year Contract To Assist Military Laboratory With DNA Sequencing
HERCULES, Calif.--()--Based on collaborative work done for the past twelve months with the Armed Forces DNA Identification Laboratory (AFDIL), Eureka Genomics has been awarded a multi-year contract with AFDIL to provide forensic service support that should advance efforts to identify unknown remains from the Korean War.
Standard Next Generation Sequencing technologies need relatively large amounts of high quality DNA. While EG prepares libraries, generates sequence data and performs routine bioinformatics analysis, EG is known for its ability to perform difficult non-standard projects, from DNA extraction, library preparation and sequence-data generation to massive sample multiplexing and bioinformatics analysis. “We are pleased to use EG’s experience with low quality and low quantity DNA and work with AFDIL in their efforts to identify unknown remains.” says Dr. Heather Koshinsky, CSO, Eureka Genomics.
“We look forward to working with Eureka Genomics in advancing the field of DNA sequencing," said Odile Loreille, a Research Scientist with AFDIL. "Identifying some of the remains from the Korean War has been particularly challenging over the years, and we're hoping this collaboration will help advance that effort."
About Eureka Genomics:
EG is a leader in advanced bioinformatics analysis of next-generation sequencing data, which it applies to the discovery of microorganisms associated with cancers and other life threatening diseases, the development of molecular diagnostics, and low density marker assays. EG leverages its proprietary algorithms and biological problem-solving expertise and provides collaborative, cost-effective high quality sequencing and analysis services to a broad range of university, government and industry researchers worldwide. www.eurekagenomics.com
