Thermo Fisher Scientific Expands Its Single-Use Mixing Product Line

Thermo Fisher Scientific Inc., the world leader in serving science, today announced the launch of a Docking Station Mixing System for bioprocess production. The system encompasses a mobile mixing station for use with 200 L, 500 L and 1000 L detachable, mobile tanks designed to hold the Thermo Scientific HyClone Single-Use Mixer (S.U.M.) disposable bioprocess containers.

The HyClone S.U.M. and disposables technologies are widely used in the biopharmaceutical industry, and the new Thermo Scientific HyClone Docking Station System further enhances flexibility and productivity because the mixing station can be moved easily from one mixing tank to another. The tanks can also be provided with feet or casters to increase mobility.

In addition, the S.U.M. is now available in two additional standard sizes: 50 L and 2000 L S.U.M. systems. These new sizes expand the total range of functionality offered by the S.U.M. technology. They feature a breadth of disposable options, both standard and made-to-order, including disposables for powder-to-liquid, liquid-to-liquid and open-top liner mixing. The S.U.M. system tanks themselves are available in non-heated and water-jacketed versions.
