TAPS-Sulfonate can aid in the recovery of recombinant protein from inclusion bodies. It is a Thiosulfonate chemical compound which adds a powerful positive charge, modifying the Cysteine residue of the recombinant protein. The addition of this positive charge promotes dissolution of inclusion bodies, allowing for the use of centrifugation, dialysis, and chromatography techniques for further purification of the protein.
