Lightweight PAPR with Panoramic Hood Improves Worker Safety and Productivity
ILC Dover, the manufacturer of Innovative Protective Equipment for the most demanding applications including spacesuits for NASA, announced recently that the National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health has approved its Sentinel XT as a Loose Fitting Powered Air Purifying Respirator (PAPR) (TC-21C-0901). The XT is approved with the latest version of the Sentinel Clear, apanoramic clear hood that is ideally suited for the demanding requirements of pharmaceutical and biolab customers. The Sentinel Clear hood delivers a 320° field of view which improves worker safety and productivity. The latest XT Sentinel Clear hood also features retention clips that securely attach to the operator's protective suit or cloth uniform.
The Sentinel XT powered air purifying respirator system incorporates the most advanced technologies available including a brushless long life motor, a lightweight lithium polymer battery capable of delivering 12 hours of operation on a single charge, and easy decon features. The lightweight integrated blower/battery weighs only 2.2 pounds and incorporates a state-of-the-art battery life indicator gauge. The latest PAPR from ILC can be worn with acustomer-driven ergonomic backharness or a comfort belt, depending on the user work profile.
