BioTek Instruments Awarded Best Large Company In VBM's 2009 Best Places To Work
WinooskiVT - As a first-time participant, BioTek Instruments, Inc., recently secured top honors in the Best Places to Work Awards, Large Companies category. The third annual awards, sponsored by Vermont Business Magazine and supported by the Vermont Chamber of Commerce, the Vermont Society of Human Resource Management, and the Vermont Departments of Labor and Economic Development recognized five large companies and ten small-to-medium companies in Vermont, each chosen based on surveys from each company's employees.
Best Companies Group (Harrisburg, PA) administers the two-part survey process. An initial employer questionnaire is sent to the company for details on the benefits, policies and practices of the company. An anonymous employee engagement and satisfaction survey is subsequently sent directly to the company's employees; amounting to three-quarters of the final score.
Commenting on BioTek's Best Places to Work Award, Large Company, Briar Alpert, President of BioTek Instruments noted, "We really have an environment where people treat each other with mutual respect. Like all companies, mistakes are inevitable, but our energy goes into fixing the problem as opposed to fixing blame so that we can all continually improve and grow."
Kathy Gendron, BioTek Director of Human Resources, agreed, adding, "With an average tenure of over eleven years, BioTekkers know that BioTek is more than just a job; it's a second family. And the Company knows that each of our employees makes a difference."
