This Fas-FasL system involves the deletion of autoreactive T cells and the development of hepatitis. The membrane-bound human Fas ligand is converted to a soluble form by action of metalloproteinase.
The elevated levels of serum soluble FasL (sFasL) were detected in patients with LGL-leukemia and NK-type lymphoma.
