Details

Stromal Cell-Derived Factor-1 alpha (SDF1 alpha) is a recently discovered protein belonging to the alpha chemokine (CXC) family of cytokines. The recombinant Murine SDF1 alpha is a 7.9 kDa protein containing 68 amino acid residues. The source is E.coli. The product is sterile filtered and then the protein was lyophilized from 10 mM Acetic Acid.

The lyophilized SDF1 alpha, though stable at room temperature, is best stored desiccated below 0°C. Reconstituted murine SDF1 alpha can be stored at 40°C or frozen in working aliquots at -20°C. Purity is greater than 98% by SDS-PAGE and HPLC analyses. Endotoxin level is less than 0.1 ng per µg (1EU/ug) of SDF alpha.

The lyophilized SDF1 alpha is soluble in water and most aqueous buffers. The lyophilized protein can be reconstituted in water to a concentration of 0.1-1 mg/ml. It is recommended that further dilutions be made into buffer containing carrier protein or medium containing serum. Biological activity is determined by its ability to chemoattract human peripheral blood monocytes using a concentration of 50-100ng/ml. Usage is for research use only, not for diagnostic or therapeutic procedures.
