Wako has partnered with Anti Cancer, Inc. to provide you with a recombinant L-Methioninase (rMETase), to target methionine dependent tumor cells. It has been reported that tumor cells require a higher methionine level for growth than normal cells, therefore rMETase can be a useful tool in the study of the tumor cell-cycle and anti-tumor agents.
Growth inhibition, followed by apoptosis, have been demonstrated in both in vitro and in vivo studies. Tumor cells deprived of methionine reversibly arrest in the late-S/G2 phase of the cell cycle. RMETase has been shown to deplete serum methionine without toxicity to mice.
This product is available in two package sizes, 10 units and 100 units.
