GGs Top™ is a highly selective enzyme y-Glutamyl Transpeptidase (GGT) Inhibitor with the following properties for use in cell biology, laboratory research, and early drug discovery:
- High specificity to y-Glutamyl Transpeptidase (GGT)
- High inhibitory activity to human ?-Glutamyl Transpeptidase (GGT)
- Low toxicity
- Chemically stable
y-Glutamyl Transpeptidase (GGT) is a cell membrane inhibitor involved in a number of biological events and diseases such as:
- Drug resistance
- Metastasis of cancer cells
- Neurodegenerative diseases
- Parkinson's disease
- Type II diabetes
- Cardiovascular disease
Acivicin [AT-125] has been widely used as a ?-Glutamyl Transpeptidase (GGT), but it also inhibits asparagine synthase (GA family).
GGs Top is designed as a y-Glutamyl Transpeptidase (GGT) inhibitor that will not inhibit the asparagine synthetase and shows inhibition to human GGT 100 times higher than AT-125.
