Scalability of a system can be demonstrated many ways. The Pad-Drive 1000 mixing system was designed to work with different sized mixing tanks and it to allows a single operator to easily change the mixing tank to accommodate differing processing volumes. The Pad-Drive 1000 system can be used with 200L tanks in cylindrical and cubical format, and cubical tanks of 500L and 1000L capacity. This gives the user a very flexible, user friendly, system that can be easily scaled up, without the investment in additional mixing hardware required by many other disposable systems. This makes Pad-Drive 1000 one of the most cost effective mixing systems available.

The experiments reported on here were designed to demonstrate that two systems, of different capacities, would under identical mixing conditions, produce the same, and therefore scalable, predictable mixing results. This was done by measuring conductivity changes as a known amount of a salt, NaCl, was mixed into a known volume of water. Conductivity was measured until it became constant indicating a homogeneous solution.
