Application Note: Yeast Strain Profiling
Our objective was to acquire new information of the effects of certain transcription factors on Saccharomyces cerevisiae growth rates, levels of biomass, extracellular ethanol, glycerol and acetate under anaerobic growth conditions. The study was conducted by using transcription factor deletion strains and comparing the measurement results with corresponding results obtained from a wild type yeast strain. 52 different deletion strains were investigated with the Medicel Explorer equipment. 120 individual batch cultivations were carried out with the Medicel Cultivation Unit within a ten week time period. Over 2500 quantitative metabolite analysis were performed in realtime with the Medicel Inline HPLC in the course of the project. One laboratory technician carried out the execution of the entire cell cultivation project. Click Here To Download:
