Bioprocess International Conference And Exhibition Photo Diary

Scientists, Researchers and members of the Biopharmaceutical industry gathered October 12-16, 2009 at The Raleigh, NC Convention Center for the Bioprocess International Conference and Exhibition.

Educational tracks focused on

- Scaling Up from Bench through Commecialization
- Cell Culture and Upstream Processing
- Recovery and Purification
Event sponsors included a "who's who" in the industry including: BD Biosciences, Diosynth, DSM, Invitrogen, Lonza, Novozymes, Pall, Thermo Scientific Hyclone, Applied Biosystems, GE Healthcare, Gyros, Millipore, Novasep and Tarpon.

Keynote presentations included Paul McKenzie, VP, Centocor, R&D, Henry Mach, Sr. Investigator, Mecrk Research Laboratories, Johannes Roebers, Phd, Elan Pharmaceutical International, Ltd, and Konstantin Konstantinov, of Genzyme Corporation.
Technology Workshops included a standing room only event by SAFC Bioscience on Hydrolysates, and other workshops offered by DSM Biologics, Thermo Scientific, and Novasep, New Brunswick Scientific demonstrated their new single use fermentor during a technology workshop during the week.

Another technological breakthrough was demonstrated by DASGIP with their iphone remote controller.

Hamilton Company demonstrated their new VisiTherm Single Use Sensor Technology

Contract manufacturers included global companies such as Rentschler, DSM, Catalent, Laureate, Boehringer, and Cook.



Scilog demonstrated the advanced capabilities of their new SciPur 200

Increased options in single use technology and advanced processes were seen from ATMI Lifesciences, Xcellerex, Sartoius Stedim Biotech, and Pall Life Sciences.




Recent innovations in biomanufacturing could be seen with Ajinomoto's CORYNEX information, together with Novozymes CellPrime Recombinant Albumin, Bio-Rad's CHT-Hydroxyapitite products, Novasep's and Celeros advanced separation techniques.





SAFC Biosciences continued to educate the attendees on CD Hydrolysates which gained formidable attention at ESACT while allowing exhibit hall attendees to get caught in a tunnel of dollars.


CHO cell media enhancer Invitria not only demonstrated capabilities but fed the crowd with the Papa John's pizza incentive.
Other exhibitors of interest included APPLIKON and their new Alcohol Fementation Monitor, Technikrom and their high quality HPLC downstream products.


Thermo Fisher Scientific displayed integrated lifescience capabilities from their Thermo Scientific Hyclone products group and Thermo Fisher Scientific Nalgene and Nunc division.


Cell Culture imaging technologies were displayed by the new division of Roche

Corning maintained a dominant image with the new shaker and flask designs.
