A "virtual company" thus represents an ultimate outsourcing example. A new expertise of professionals who can manage outsourcing has developed, and most companies today consider it an essential core competency. Those without extensive experience in outsourcing soon learn that there are no perfect outsourcing solutions, just choices that are more efficient, and experience leads to more predictable systems.
Outsourcing is a well-discussed topic. A large volume of literature is available addressing various issues that relate to outsourcing difficulties as they appear in different industries. Journal articles have even been written on the history of outsourcing.
