There will be emphasis on the types of isolation that may be implemented in LTCFs and those types that cannot be implemented due to environmental restrictions. There will be discussion of use of personal protective equipment and decontamination of blood spills consistent with standard precautions and OSHA regulations. The webinar will be augmented by questions, answers, and discussion following the presentation. Why should you attend: Appropriate implementation of isolation precautions in the LTCF is critical to resident and employee safety. Important tools to prevent the transmission of infections in the LTCF include having adequate and accessible personal protective equipment (PPE) as well as staff who understand the risk of transmission and methods to prevent transmission. CMS F441 focuses on prevention of transmission of infection and developing a comprehensive infection control program. One of the major components of that program includes appropriate implementation of isolation precautions. These precautions will be covered in detail in this program. This webinar is important for any staff who may be involved in the process of implementing or using isolation precautions.
